the key to a good sandwich, is a good bun. Starting off as a sunday pop at Alfies, lucky buns has now expanded into its own concept which is currently in the process of opening around the dc area. a fast-casual concept, lucky buns features burgers, chicken sandwiches and sides with asian, aussie and english influences

duke's grocery 

drawing influence from his parents upbringing in london, alex created the concept, design and menu (including the famous burger) for duke's in 2011 after lamenting for years about the lack of good english food in dc. In 2013, after partnering with 2 buddies as chef/owner, Alex opened dukes to almost immediate fanfare. since opening in 2013 duke's, its brunch and its burger have become dc staples. in 2015 alex left duke's to pursue alfie's , tchoups & lucky buns with his longtime friends hunter, marc & alex.
